And so begins the second week of classes. *yawn*
My MWF class is just the BTMM senior seminar. The professor is a really nice and agreeable guy so it shouldn’t be too bad. The only thing I’m a bit apprehensive for is the mock interview we have to do with the Career Development Center. They videotape it and you have to watch it while they point out your mistakes. It just sounds like a horrifying experience. haha. But hopefully I will gain some pointers out of it cause my interview skill suck big time.
My Film class (Survey of New Media) isn’t all that bad so far. Boring as all hell, but nothing that would cause me any sort of emotional turmoil. Lots of reading. Meh.
My prof for Writing For Business is this quirky old lady who really likes wearing crocs. I still haven’t gotten the book yet, cause apparently there’s no tests or quizzes so I’m not sure what the point of getting it is, but I probably should. We have to do a project/presentation on a company of someone that we know, so I’m doing the company Shawn works for. haha. That really seems to be the only thing that we need to do for the course.
My last class is BTMM Multimedia Production. There’s like 9 people in the class (7 on the first day) and the prof is this little Chinese lady who tends to ramble on and ask “Are there any questions?” at least 35 times within the span of the class period. We’re starting off by learning Photoshop basics (AKA me wanting to stab myself in the eye because idiots who apparently “know Photoshop” don’t seem to know how to do simple things like resize a picture). The only thing I really took the class for was to learn Flash so I’m eagerly awaiting that, and hoping it won’t be a total disaster because the prof has really poor teaching skills.
And then theres Marching Band of course. The new director is cool and the clarinets are awesome. We had our first game on Saturday against UConn. It was down pouring the whole time and I almost died. Apparently our show was good though.

Hope everyone is doing well.
Tomorrow is Labor Day and classes start on Tuesday. Temple is starting really late (in Sept) this year with classes, its kind of weird and throwing off my sense of time.
I had band camp all last week, and it actually wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating. I dare say that it was actually somewhat enjoyable. *gasp*. We’re doing a Guitar Hero show which is really upbeat and fun. I’m one of the section leaders for the clarinets and our section this year is really great. Everyone has some experience in Marching Band and we sound terrific. We can even sort of kind of maybe make a half decent diagonal…sometimes.
I’ve created a new layout for me portfolio site =) Please check it out at http://www.melaniegebhardt.com.
O yea, and that thing with my credit card that I wrote in the last post was sorted out. I found the company who was billing me, and their customer service told me I had registered for some shady website (which I hadn’t), so I told them I had been frauded and they returned all of the money that was charged.
O yea my computer is being a real pain. A) Two of the keys (E and Y) have completely fallen off. B) It will randomly close programs if too much stuff is open…I think I may have low memory. C) I keep getting virus warnings from my anti-virus software but I don’t think they are actually being removed. Oh bother.
Nothing much else happening. Hopfully my classes will go smoothly this week.

I figure its about time for a blog.
I’m currently at home for the weekend. Friday was the last day of my internship at WYBE, and I have the whole next week off. Yesterday we went to NYC for a day trip but it turned out to be pretty sucky. We got lost getting up there, then we spent like 2 hours waiting with a million people in line to go to the Statue of Liberty…and when we tried to ask if we could go up on the observation deck (aka anywhere that’s not outside the statue) we were told we needed “reservations”. So we had to wait in more lines for a couple hours to get back. Then we took had to take a subway and a shuttle to get to Times Square, where there was just as many people. We ate at a really pricey diner and then went back…so yea the day was pretty much pointless. lol.
Today was better though. I went with my dad to King of Prussia mall and got a few things that I really wanted to get for awhile. I got a pair of VANS sneakers in black, a cute vest (that came with this ugly shirt but I couldn’t buy them separately), a pair of brown flats, and a black hat.
I’m kind of worried because I keep getting $24.95 charged to my debit account by some “cs8web.net” and I know that I haven’t joined any membership thing or anything. I got charged on July 21st, then again today, August 17th. I’m probably going to call the bank this week and see what they can do about it because it must be some kind of fraud. Hopefully I can get it worked out. *sigh*
The new song by The Verve, “Love is Noise”, is really good if you haven’t checked it out yet.
Man I am so not looking forward to band camp next week.
